PERFORMANCE, PACKAGED

Roberts PolyPro Develops Its Next Generation of Paper Handles

Oct 17, 2012

Charlotte, NC — Roberts PolyPro, powered by ProMach, will display for the first time at Pack Expo 2012 its new generation of paper handles, which are 25 percent stronger and 25 percent more accurate in cut length and aperture compared to the previous generation of paper handles. These advancements improve the integrity of the handle and ultimately the safety of handling bulk packaging. (Roberts PolyPro Pack Expo 2012 Booth #3916)

During the past year, Roberts PolyPro refined its paper handle manufacturing processes to achieve the 25 percent strength and consistency advancements. The company worked closely with reinforced paper suppliers on pricing. The result is superior performance at a competitive price. Since these handles are made in the U.S., lead times are short, which means companies can save on inventory costs.

Paper handles of this type are typically used as consumer convenience features on bulk boxes of laundry, dishwashing detergent, and kitty litter. The new handles come in standard 6.5, 7.5, and 8.5 inch lengths and are rated respectively for 15, 25, and 35 pound packaging. Non-standard sizes are also available. Both standard and non-standard length handles are designed for application on virtually any manufacturer’s application equipment. The handles are immediately available for qualification testing.

“The price performance of our new generation of paper handles is phenomenal,” said Roy Tetreault, general manager, Roberts PolyPro. “The competition simply is a generation behind. We know these handles will become the standard by which others are judged.”
